A princess had the power to transform herself into a nightingale. A knight, who lived in an old ruined castle under the Saslonch Mountain heard her singing and fell in love with her. He found out she was really a woman from an old inhabitant of the mountains, a Salvan. The nightingale flew away and the knight waited in vain for her return. He became sick and died after a long agony. Therefore the bird lost the power to transform itself back into a princess. Her sad song can be heard sometimes near the old ruin under the Saslonch Mountain.
